SE4401 Oct 11, 2014 (1:00pm-5:00 pm) Saturday (River Room)

A hands-on introduction to the powerful, versatile 3D design program known as SketchUp. Students will learn how to navigate the 3D space on their computer, how to use SketchUp’s basic modeling tools, and how to follow good practices that will allow them to work quickly and accurately, with a minimum of frustration. They will also learn how to output their designs to generate printed plans, full-size patterns and templates, or to drive a 3D printer. Students can expect to produce a finished model of a simple piece of furniture. Students must bring a laptop computer (Mac or Windows), with SketchUp Make 2014 (the free version of the program) already installed. Go to www.sketchup.com to download the program.
