Have you ever wanted to learn basic metalsmithing skills & have your own in-home studio with a soldering station, but you didn't know where to start? In this class you'll learn the basic steps to design a simple piece of jewelry using introductory metalsmithing skills and techniques. Also included is how to set up a simple and safe home studio -- whether it's in a dedicated location or at your kitchen table.
Students will learn studio and personal safety, bench set-up, sawing and piercing metal, proper filing techniques, texturing, hammering, basic soldering skills using a butane torch, adding a patina.
Ages 18 and over. A materials fee of $35.00 will be added to the tuition.
