Beginner, Experienced Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate Christine Aulicino
FW0512 Feb 11+18, 2012 (10am-5pm) 2 Saturdays (LTB Studio)
This workshop is designed to expand your experience with woven structures. Beginners will learn the basics of setting up a warp for a multi-color scarf and will create the scarf using a versatile, portable rigid heddle loom. Weavers with experience will be encouraged to explore new weave structures, such as lace, warp and weft faced fabrics, using more than one heddle, double weave, on the rigid heddle loom. A studio/materials fee of $25 is due at time of registration. Bring your own loom, or portable looms can be rented with an option to buy. If you'd like to purchase a 20" rigid heddle loom for $135.50, or a 24" loom for $167.00, please place your order with us as soon as possible.
- Christine Aulicino
Christine received a BA Studio Arts from Smith College. Her lifelong passion for all fiber arts takes the form of weaving, stitchery, quilting and surface embellishment. Her first weaving class was at the 92nd St. Y in New York. For the last 5 years, she has studied weaving with Lucienne Coifmann at Creative Arts Workshop (CAW) in New Haven. Christine's weaving has been exhibited in student shows at CAW and is available on ETSY under her shop name, Yellow Cottage Industries. Whether weaving on a floor loom, a small rigid heddle loom, an inkle loom or a basic frame loom, Christine explores ways to use various woven structures in new ways.
