FA7401 Nov 4 2017 (10am-3pm) Saturday (LTB Studio)

This one-day workshop will provide the foundation of techniques for basic fiber dyeing using fiber-reactive dyes. The dyes used are available in a very wide range of colors, both bright and subdued. The process does not require heat or harsh chemicals to make the color bind with the fiber and is easily accomplished in a home studio or workshop. Each student will have the chance to explore color painting on silk scarves and immersion dyeing of cotton fabric that can be incorporated into sewing, quilting and other hand crafted projects. Silk and cotton fabrics are included in the materials fee. Please bring sturdy rubber gloves. All levels are welcome. Ages 18 and over, a materials fee of $30.00 will be added to the tuition.
