Fine Art Photography Session 3: Outdoor Shoot
Dec 3 2016
SP6407 Dec 3 2016 (10am-noon) Saturday (Location to be Determined)
Outdoor Shoot. In the previous session of this series, we considered the development of understanding what a camera can do, the skills of using a camera, and how to plan an outdoor shoot. In this session, which will be held on location and not at the Craft Center, we will engage in deliberate photography. That is, taking the time to seek out scenes of interest, to consider different perspectives and lighting, to frame the scene carefully, to choose how to capture the Viewer’s interest, and how to ensure that the scene is understandable.
This is the third of six individual sessions intended for moderately skilled photographers who wish to begin to develop deeper skills in Seeing, Capturing and Rendering, primarily in landscape or outdoor photography. Attendance will be limited to six participants. For this and subsequent sessions, students should bring a digital camera that they are familiar with and that has controls for aperture, shutter and ISO (don't forget to charge the battery and bring a memory card); for this session a tripod is highly desirable. The final session of the series also requires each student to bring a laptop computer. Each session will end with a photographic assignment to be reviewed at the following session. Additional study materials will be provided for continuing after the course. Ages 18 and over.
