Beginner, Experienced Beginner, Advanced Beginner Christine Aulicino
FW0812 Mar 13 - Apr 24, 2012 (6-9pm) 6 Tuesday evenings (LTB Studio)
This course is an introduction to all elements of basic weaving using a four harness floor loom. Students will prepare a warp, dress the loom, and complete a sampler of design structures. Students with some loom experience will be able to complete an individually designed project. For beginners, a studio/materials fee of $35, payable to Brookfield Craft Center, is due at time of registration. Experienced weavers may forgo paying the studio/materials fee and bring your own fiber to the first class. Looms are limited, so register early to reserve your seat in class.
- Christine Aulicino
Christine received a BA Studio Arts from Smith College. Her lifelong passion for all fiber arts takes the form of weaving, stitchery, quilting and surface embellishment. Her first weaving class was at the 92nd St. Y in New York. For the last 5 years, she has studied weaving with Lucienne Coifmann at Creative Arts Workshop (CAW) in New Haven. Christine's weaving has been exhibited in student shows at CAW and is available on ETSY under her shop name, Yellow Cottage Industries. Whether weaving on a floor loom, a small rigid heddle loom, an inkle loom or a basic frame loom, Christine explores ways to use various woven structures in new ways.
