GL1913 September 14, 2013 (10am - 2pm) Sat (Glass Studio, Railroad Building)
This full day class is jammed packed with many different surface decoration techniques that all include some aspect of SILVER! Silver plum glass will be used to create mirror-like finishes as both a base bead as well as an accent on light colored beads. An Introduction to silver-rich, double heilx reduction glass frit will be reviewed. The application of silver leaf will be demonstrated and then we move on to the creation of silver ivory stringer. Finally, the class will conclude with the use of fine silver wire -both as a surface design as well as encased. This class will provide ample time for your own exploration of the above learned techniques. After six hours, you can expect to make at least a handful of unique handmade glass beads for use in your creations. A studio/materials fee of $25 is due at time of registration.

Wear cotton clothing, long pants, long sleeve shirt with snug fitting wrists and closed-toe shoes. Do not wear overly loose clothing and tie back long hair. All materials will be provided during class.
