Students will learn fused glass techniques by
creating components for jewelry and small items such as bookmarks, wine
stoppers, ornaments, and letter openers. Some dichroic glass will be
included in the materials fee. This class is similar to the sampler but with
extended project time and covers additional topics tailored to the students’
interests. These are the same techniques used to make larger items like bowls
etc. By starting small you can explore the medium with minimal kiln time,
cost for tuition and materials. Topics will include cutting, grinding,
preparing pieces for the kiln and firing. A list of tools and materials
suppliers will be provided. Specialty glass, silver wire, findings and gift
components will also be available for purchase from the instructor.
A studio/materials fee of $55 is due at time of registration.
- Suzanne Pisano has a BA and Masters degree from Iona College. She studied silversmithing, lapidary, and glass manipulation under highly esteemed jewelers and glass artists including Fredricka Kulicke, Lessley Burke, Joy Raskin, Annemarie Ciuffini, Stephanie Maddalena, and Kurt Patzlaff. Suzanne maintains a studio in Newtown, CT
BCC will provide all materials and tools for this Sampler Workshop.
