This introductory workshop in chain making using simple hand tools is perfect for beginners and hobbyists of all ages. It is a repetitive and addictive technique resulting in amazingly beautiful chains in virtually any metal, because in torch-less chain making the links are not soldered or fused closed. Chains covered during this intensive 1 day workshop are: Egyptian Spiral, Idiot’s Delight, Dragon’s Tail, Wire Wrapping and Basic Chain Maille (time permitting). Students will make small sample pieces of each chain out of non-precious metals during the class so they will will have the knowledge and resources to confidently work on their own. A studio/materials fee of $35 is due at time of registration.

BCC will provide students with all tools and materials for this course, including non-precious metal jump rings for sampling each chain making technique.
