Our Mission
Brookfield Craft Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, founded in 1954 "to teach and preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship and enable creativity and personal growth through craft education." We strive to support creativity, fine design and quality craftsmanship without regard to race, gender or religious affiliation.

Brookfield Craft Center is recognized as one of the core craft schools in America, dedicated to teaching and fostering the skills of fine craftsmanship. Our classes and workshops are taught by nationally acclaimed local and visiting artists who regularly bring their experience and creative energies to our unique institution.
We invite you to be creative, and encourage you to learn and grow within our artistic community of talented faculty, inspired students and generous volunteers and supporters. Students can explore basketry, blacksmithing, ceramics, fused and torchworked glass, jewelry and metalsmithing, weaving and fiber arts, and woodturning. Other areas of special interest include photography, digital arts, paper and book arts, decorative arts, painting and drawing, and business and marketing for artists.
Our Campus and Facilities
Our historic 2.5 acre campus is located six miles north of Danbury, Connecticut, on the banks of the Still River, with an 18th century Mill Building as its centerpiece. Our six vintage buildings house seven fully-equipped studios, an exhibition gallery, a seasonal gift shop, and housing for visiting faculty. Contact Us and Directions >
