Open Studios

Open Studios at Brookfield Craft Center are monitored sessions where current students and local artists can take advantage of our studio facilities and work independently on personal or class projects.

Jewelry Open Studio 2017
Tuition as low as $24/session $30.00

Current or recent jewelry or fine metals students of Brookfield Craft Center are welcome to purchase studio time by joining the Open Studio Program in the Fine Metals Studio. Current BCC members are also eligible to participate if they possess basic silversmithing skills. (Not a Member? Click here to learn more or sign up.) BCC fine metal students and local skilled jewelry artists can purchase time to use BCC's well equipped jewelry studio to work independently on their own pieces. Enjoy time working with other jewelry artists as one of our jewelry artists oversees the studio. No materials supplied. Open Studio sessions are are 3 hours in length, and are held Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm. Pay a drop-in rate of $40 at the door (cash or check), or purchase sessions online in advance at a discounted rate (single session - $30, two sessions - $54, three sessions - $72). Sessions are to be used within 10 weeks of purchase. Periodically, sessions may be dropped or rescheduled due to schedule conflicts. Participants will be notified with as much advanced notice as possible. No refunds or credits will be offered for unused Open Studio sessions. Participants must have basic jewelry making skills and have had prior instruction and experience using the fine metal studio equipment.
Lampwork Open Studio 2017
Tuition as low as $29/session. Single session: $36.00

GL7101 (6-9 pm) Thursdays (Glass Studio)

Current or recent lampwork students of Brookfield Craft Center are welcome to purchase torch time by joining the Open Studio Program in the Glass Studio. Current BCC members are also eligible to participate if they possess basic torch skills. (Not a Member? Click here to learn more or sign up.) BCC lampwork glass students and local skilled artists can purchase studio time to use BCC's oxy/propane Nortel Minor Bench Burners and annealing kilns to work independently on projects. Open Studio sessions are monitored by a lampwork glass artist, are 3 hours in length, and are held Thursday evenings 6-9pm. Pay a drop-in rate of $46 at the door (cash or check), or purchase sessions online in advance at a discounted rate (single session - $36, two sessions - $65, three sessions - $87). Sessions must be used within 12 weeks of purchase. Periodically, sessions may be dropped due to schedule conflicts. Participants will be notified with as much advanced notice as possible. A limited supply of effetre glass will be available to purchase from the studio at $2/rod. No refunds or credits will be offered for unused Open Studio sessions.
Forge Open Studio 2017
Tuition as low as $20/session. Single session: $25.00

MB7101 - 6-9 pm Wednesdays and Fridays (Forge)

Work independently in BCC's Good Forge any Wednesday or Friday night 6-9 pm for a drop-in fee of $30 per session (cash or check, paid at the door), or purchase sessions in advance at a discounted rate (single session - $25, two sessions - $45, three sessions - $60). Sessions must be used within 12 weeks of purchase. Enjoy this time to work on class projects and practice techniques. Eligible participants are current or recent BCC students who have completed at least one full-weekend introductory blacksmithing or bladesmithing class. Fused Glass Open Studio 2017
Tuition as low as $24/session. $30.00

GF7306 (6-9 pm) 3rd Tuesday of the month starting Sept 19 (Glass Studio)

Current or recent fused glass students of Brookfield Craft Center are welcome to purchase studio time by joining the Open Studio Program in the Glass Studio. Current BCC members are also eligible to participate if they possess basic fused glass skills. (Not a Member? Click here to learn more or sign up.) Each Open Studio session is monitored by a fused glass artist, and is 3 hours in length. A limited supply of glass will be available to purchase from the studio. No refunds or credits will be offered for unused Open Studio sessions.
Fall Open House on Saturday, October 14th, Noon-5pm

Brookfield Craft Center will host a community open house on their campus located at 286 Whisconier Road in Brookfield, Connecticut. This creative event is free, open to the public and will feature demonstrations conducted by talented faculty artists working in all of the studios.
