SketchUp is a powerful 3D design program that more and more people use for woodworking, blacksmithing, woodturning, and other crafts. This course is for people who have not used the program at all. You will begin with exercises to learn how to navigate the 3D drawing space and use SketchUp's drawing and modeling tools. You also learn the rules for success--essential good practices to ensure that SketchUp does what you want it to. You will apply those new skills and rules to create at least one original model. This will give you the knowledge and confidence to keep using SketchUp profitably in your own artistic endeavors. Bring a laptop (Mac or Windows is fine, but an iPad will not work), with the free version of SketchUp already installed. Go to www.sketchup.com to download the program called SketchUp Make.
