Students will learn the fundamentals of weaving on a rigid heddle lap loom. The first project will be a small scarf. Once this project is completed, we will move on to a second project, making a scarf from start to finish. Each student will learn how to plan projects, warp the loom, basic weaving techniques, and various options for how to finish a woven piece of cloth. Students can bring their own rigid heddle loom, purchase one from the instructor ($145), or rent ($35) with option to buy at the end of the workshop. Rented looms will be pre-warped by the teacher prior to the beginning of class. Beginners welcome. Ages 15 and over. A materials fee of $20.00 will be added to the tuition.
