Bowl Turning 101
Tuition $240.00

WT6103 Mar 12 & 13 2016 (10am-4:30pm) Saturday/Sunday (Turning Studio)


Students will learn to make wooden bowls on the lathe from start to finish. Topics will include lathe operation and safety, wood preparation, safe tool handling procedures, creating the final shape, sanding and finishing. Students can expect to complete two hardwood bowls. Ages 16 and over. A materials fee of $25.00 will be added to the tuition.
The Wonderful World of Woodturning

WT6102 Mar 19 & 20 2016 (9am-4:00pm) Saturday/Sunday (Turning Studio)

From spindle to bowl, this class will provide you with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of woodturning in a fun, open and sharing atmosphere. Whether you're a rank beginner or need to improve your current skills, you will be guided through proper tool selection, sharpening, safety and technique to allow you to realize the vast possibilities of turning. Ages 16 and over. A materials fee of $25.00 will be added to the tuition.
Bowl Turning 102
Tuition $240.00

Experienced Beginner, Advanced Beginner
Prerequisite: Bowlturning 101, Intro to the Lathe, Beginning Bowl Turning or other lathe experience

WT6201 April 23 & 24, 2016 (10am - 4:30pm) Saturday/Sunday (Turning Studio, Railroad Building)

Take your woodturning skills to the next level with well-designed and beautifully crafted bowls. Bowl Turning 102 picks up where Bowl Turning 101 or The Wonderful World of Wood Turning leaves off. After a review of basic skills and concepts, students will proceed at their own level and pace with individual assistance and coaching. All phases of bowl turning will be covered, from wood preparation to final sanding and finishing. This course is designed for students who have completed a foundation-level woodturning course at BCC, have some other lathe experience, or would like to polish some rusty skills. A materials fee of $30 is due at time of registration.
