Woodturning

Learn the basics, or practice a new technique in our world-class turning studio with seven sturdy Oneway lathes. Register now for upcoming workshops, or ask us about a private tutorial. We are happy to customize a class for you and your friends, family or co-workers: 3 to 6 people receive lots of personal attention and share an enjoyable creative experience!

Square Plates and Bowls
Tuition $120.00

Square is good, as all things are not round. In this class students will learn to create square shaped plates and shallow bowls on the lathe. Starting with an "almost square' arched plate to learn the basic concepts of turning a non-round shape, students will progress to a square plate or shallow bowl of their own design. All phases will be covered, from initial stock preparations to final sanding and finishing. Students should have some previous bowl turning experience. Ages 16 and over, a materials fee of $15 will be added to the tuition.
Salad Servers
Tuition $120.00

WT6302 Jul 31, 2016 (10am - 4:30pm) Sunday (Turning Studio, Railroad Building)

In this fun one-day class students will make a pair of salad servers of their own design from a hardwood of their own choosing. Beginning with stock preparation, initial turning, and final shaping and finishing, students will learn the entire process. Students should have some previous wood turning experience such as Intro to the Lathe or Bowl Turning 101. Ages 16 and over, a $10 materials fee will be added to the tuition.
