Students will be introduced to multiple media including watercolor, gouache, and colored pencils in a unique engaged way of teaching. With weekly creative projects, students will be encouraged to explore a wide variety of art styles and techniques; while strengthening both their artistic skills and their understanding of art. Each students will be encouraged to work at their level and stretch their imagination in a relaxed and fun environment. Students will develop an individual awareness through an in-depth exploration of value, color, form, and composition. A list of suggested supplies may be obtained from the teacher. Ages 8-16.
Please bring these items to class: 1 - Watercolor paper (8/11 or larger), Graphite Pencil, Eraser, Pencil Sharpener, Colored Pencils (6-12 set), Watercolor pan color set or Gouache "Basics" set of 6 colors (need at least a green, yellow, red, blue, white, black), Brushes: 1 large flat and round brush and small round brush ( 4 total), a Palette and a disposable plastic cup for mixing colors.
