Bowl Turning 102
Apr 23 & 24 2016
10-4:30pm Saturday & Sunday
Experienced Beginner, Advanced Beginner
WT6201 April 23 & 24, 2016 (10am - 4:30pm) Saturday/Sunday (Turning Studio, Railroad Building)
Take your woodturning skills to the next level with well-designed and beautifully crafted bowls. Bowl Turning 102 picks up where Bowl Turning 101 or The Wonderful World of Wood Turning leaves off. After a review of basic skills and concepts, students will proceed at their own level and pace with individual assistance and coaching. All phases of bowl turning will be covered, from wood preparation to final sanding and finishing. This course is designed for students who have completed a foundation-level woodturning course at BCC, have some other lathe experience, or would like to polish some rusty skills. A materials fee of $30 is due at time of registration.
Brookfield Craft Center will provide all wood, tools, equipment and eye protection.
Students are advised to dress comfortably in closed-toe shoes and long pants. Wood shavings are bountiful in the turning studio, and most fall on the body at the chest/torso level. Wear a high neck shirt (crew neck) with sleeves that are not loose enough to catch on the lathe and a tie-back for long hair. We recommend bringing bottled water as well.
