NEW DATES CL1512 Oct 23-Dec 11, 2012, 8 Tuesday evenings, 6-9 pm (Ceramics Barn)

Beginner and experienced students come together after a busy day to relax, work with clay and enhance creative and technical ceramics skills. Students may sample working on the wheel and handbuilding to make functional pottery and decorative works, or delve into new or ongoing projects. Work with the type of clay of your choice (low fire earthenware or high fire stoneware), throw on pottery wheels, use the stab roller, extruder and more. A studio/materials fee of $15 covers your first bag of clay and is due at time of registration. Additional clay, glazing and firing fees will depend on the scope of individual projects (most projects' firing fees will be $.05 per cubic inch, which includes glazes, bisque firing and glaze firing). New students are encouraged to purchase a pottery tool kit for $15.

*This 8-week course comes with 24 hours of free open studio time to work independently in the BCC Ceramics Barn. For each week class is in session, enrolled students are given the option to attend one open studio session on either Wednesday 1-4pm or Thursday 6-9pm.
