Session 3 – Using a Camera
The act of photography is not random. It begins with the Photographer seeking out, or noticing, or even constructing a scene that can be captured and rendered into an image that will engage the Viewer. It begins with Seeing. How do we learn to see as a photographer? This class will introduce practices that help to develop this essential skill and students will try these out on the Craft Center campus.
This is the third of six individual sessions intended for moderately skilled photographers who wish to begin to develop deeper skills in Seeing, Capturing and Rendering, primarily in landscape or outdoor photography. Students should bring a digital camera that they are familiar with and that has controls for aperture, shutter and ISO (don't forget to charge the battery and bring a memory card). Each session will end with a photographic assignment to be reviewed at the following session. Additional study materials will be provided for continuing after the course. Ages 18 and over, a $10 materials fee will be added to the tuition.
